Cardiff is known as a City of Parks, with more green space per person than any other core city in the UK and holds the National Britain in Bloom Award (Large City) 2005 and Gold in the European Entente Florale competition 2006. Many of Cardiff's parks have sports facilities and attractions. For example, Roath Park has a boating lake, sports fields and a conservatory of exotic plants.
Cardiff University has over 27,000 students with 90% of graduates going straight into work or further education on graduation. The University is a member of the Russell Group of leading universities and at any one time there are more than 1,400 research contracts in operation.
Cardiff Bay is rich in culture. From the Techniquest Science Discovery Centre, the Butetown History and Arts Centre, the boat tours and water taxi, to the numerous bars and restaurants, Cardiff Bay has something for everyone.
